With a choice of five-inch or eight-inch audio displays the driver is sure to be entertained by Bluetooth streaming audio choices. The touchscreen adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for even more connectivity and additional voice command capability. Owners will appreciate HondaLink services, SMS Text Messaging, HD Radio, Honda HD Digital Traffic, Pandora, and USB interface. Music lovers will like the 540-watt premium system which adds a truck-bed audio system for outdoor entertainment. The second-row bench can split-fold, and it has underseat storage. An in-bed trunk offers waterproof, secure storage. The top edition has a power-slide rear window and a moonroof. Active noise cancellation and an available acoustic windshield keeps passengers from hearing road noise.

2018 Honda Ridgeline Horsepower

Drivers command a 280-horsepower engine. Torque is rated at 262 lb.-ft. The engine block is made of a lightweight aluminum-alloy to keep the curb weight low. Fuel economy is rated at 26 mpg highway. An Eco Assist system and variable Cylinder Management help the driver reduce fuel use. You can haul up to 1,465 pounds or tow up to 5,000 pounds. The bed has eight heavy-duty, tie-down cleats and a trailer hitch. To keep things quiet, the powertrain has an active control engine mount system.

Like all Hondas, the truck cabin has an ACE body structure to withstand impact. SmartVent front airbags are electronically controlled for proper levels of inflation. Unlike some of its rivals, the 2018 Honda Ridgeline can claim a good safety record with five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Moving the truck into the future, there are Honda Sensing systems. The lane keeping assist and road departure mitigation combine to keep the truck within the marked lines. Collision mitigation braking may respond if the driver misses a collision alert. Automatic high beams lower when oncoming traffic is too close. A cross traffic monitor aids the driver when watching for traffic during reverse maneuvers. A blind spot system trains sensors on the car's sides to warn the driver when traffic is too close for a safe lane change. Adaptive Cruise Control regulates how fast the truck can go when encountering busy traffic. LaneWatch puts a camera in the passenger side mirror to eliminate uncertainty about side traffic. These systems are particularly significant since several of the Ridgeline's rivals offer no automation and very few alerts.
